Free Radical damage is the root cause, so anti-oxidants are the most important. The eye contains the highest percentage of potassium in the body along with Vitamin C and Glutathione. Glutathione is the key element of the eye fluids and maintains the lens. From the herbal side I would recommend Bilberry and Ginkgo – further patient examination would be needed to provide exact doses and recommendations. Use protective eyeglasses to shield against UV sunlight at every opportunity.
